Reporting to the Lead Electrical Engineer this role is required to undertake quality design services for infrastructure projects and detailed switchboard standard designs and provide technical support and advice.


  • Engineering Studies - feasibility studies, investigations, audits (for Electrical, Control and SCADA system replacement, migration, upgrade and optimisation).

  • Engineering Design – Electrical, Control and SCADA system conceptual design, engineering design, detailed design, equipment selection and prepare technical specifications.

  • Specialist in the production and development of detailed electrical switchboard designs to RCR switchboard manufacturing facility – indoor and outdoor switchboards, control cubicle, disconnect cubicles, marshalling boxes.

  • Earthing design, studies, earth resistivity testing and reports.

  • Procurement - purchasing, tendering and administration

  • Project management services - planning, control, coordination, monitoring and reporting, asset management and documentation.



  • Degree level qualification in Electrical Engineering or relevant equivalent.


  • Relevant experience in water related professional engineering experience with considerable experience in infrastructure planning, definition and/or detailed design of infrastructure assets.
  • Sound and relevant knowledge of a Design Manager/ Project Engineer/Project Manager role, and in the preparation and review of technical reports and tender specifications for water industry infrastructure.
  • Ability to analyse existing and/or proposed infrastructure assets to evaluate engineering and economic effectiveness and to present viable recommendations.
  • Knowledge of statutory requirements, regulation and national standards associated with design, approval and development of water related infrastructure assets.
