ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the Workshop Manager this role would be responsible for overseeing the productivity and progress of workshop employees and scheduling labour and resources in our busy Newcastle workshop.





DUTIES

  • Coordinate Workshop employees to effectively achieve job timeframes required.

  • Provide technical advice to employees and clients in a timely and accurate manner.

  • Manage rosters of employees to ensure effective coverage for current workload.

  • Develop and effectively communicate the Job Plan to workgroups.

  • Ensure the quality of work meets the required standards and conduct work audits on job completion.

  • Assist with any engineering or project queries within project and sales management teams.

  • Ensure all timesheets and documentation for jobs are completed in an accurate and timely manner.

  • Job costing review and reporting.

  • Ensure that employees are trained and competent to use and operate machinery, plant and equipment and to ensure that all employees are compliant wearing PPE and adhering to cardinal and site rules.




SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in in a similar role working within the manufacturing of structural and pressure equipment.

  • Excellent understanding of how to interpret drawings.

  • Has had exposure to Worksafe and AS/NZS4801 safety standards

  • Knowledge of MS Office Suite.

  • Appropriate trade and post trade qualifications.

  • Experience in the management and supervision of staff.
